Welcome to What I Expected (whatiexpected.co), ("What I Expected," "we," "us" or "our"). By using this website or listening to the What I Expected podcast, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What this site is

What I Expected publishes reviews, guides (including the Goldilocks Guide), podcast episodes and other content that compare what brands promise with what customers actually experience. Our MISS, MEET and EXCEED ratings reflect the honest opinion of Holly Bohn Pittman and, where noted, her team and friends. They are based on personal experience and research. Your experience may be different.

2. Not professional advice

Our content is for general information and entertainment only. Nothing on this site or podcast is medical, health, nutrition, fitness, legal, financial or other professional advice.

Some reviews cover supplements, skincare, wellness devices and other health-related products. Talk to a doctor or other qualified professional before starting any product, supplement or treatment, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or have a medical condition. Results we describe are personal and are not a guarantee of your results.

3. Affiliate links, gifted products and sponsorships

Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links through ShopMy and Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

We sometimes receive products at no cost or are paid to create sponsored content. We disclose these relationships in the related post. Compensation never determines a rating. Our ratings are not for sale.

4. Accuracy and timing

Reviews reflect a product or service at the time we tested it. Prices, ingredients, formulas, availability and brand policies change. We work to keep our content accurate but don't guarantee that it is complete or current. Please confirm important details with the brand or retailer before you buy.

5. Third-party sites and purchases

This site links to retailers, brands, social media platforms and podcast platforms that we don't own or control. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. Any purchase you make is between you and the seller. We are not responsible for third-party products, pricing, shipping, returns or customer service.

6. Our content and intellectual property

All content on this site and podcast, including text, photos, video, audio, graphics and logos, belongs to What I Expected or is used with permission. This includes the What I Expected name, the MISS / MEET / EXCEED rating system and the Goldilocks Guide name.

You may view and share our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote brief excerpts with credit and a link back to the original page. Any other use, including republishing, selling or commercial use, requires our written permission.

7. Messages and submissions you send us

When you contact us through our form, email or social media, you allow us to use what you send to respond to you and to improve our content. We won't publish your name or message without your permission. Please don't send confidential information through the site.

8. Services for brands

What I Expected offers consulting, brand evaluations and content partnerships. These are provided only under a separate written agreement. Using this site or contacting us does not create a business relationship or obligate us to review, feature or rate any product.

9. Acceptable use

Please don't use this site to break the law, send spam, impersonate anyone, upload harmful code, or interfere with the site's operation or security.

10. Disclaimers

This site, the podcast and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, What I Expected and its owner, team and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or podcast, your reliance on our content, or products or services you buy from third parties. If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your misuse of this site or your violation of these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in St. Johns County, Florida.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
