It all started with The Super Blend.

I purchased it after seeing a post from things.i.bought.and.liked or GoalstoGetGlowing. Fast forward 18 months, and I somehow ended up testing most of the Maya Chia lineup. That’s usually what happens when a brand actually does what it promises—I commit.

The surprising part? After trying nearly everything, there wasn’t a single product my skin disliked.

This is the beauty brand I reach for when I want clean, straightforward products that do exactly what they claim.

What I Expected (the promise)

Maya Chia positions its formulas around chia seed oil, which is naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. The brand emphasizes barrier-supporting ingredients and botanical actives designed to nourish skin without irritation.

Their philosophy centers on effective formulations that remain gentle enough for sensitive skin.

What Happened (real life)

I ended up using most of the line (descriptions are my words, not theirs):

The first thing I noticed was consistency across the line.

Nothing irritated my skin. Everything worked as promised.

If you test skincare regularly, you know that’s not always guaranteed—especially with active ingredients.

The scent profile across the brand is also very cohesive: light botanical fragrances that feel spa-like without being overwhelming.

Two products stood out as EXCEED:

The Super Blend is the one I would recommend starting with. Technically, it’s a moisture concentrate, but it behaves more like a serum–moisturizer hybrid. It absorbs quickly, adds hydration, and gives skin an immediate healthy glow. It’s one of those products that simply makes skin look better. Since turning 52, my skin has suddenly not been as oily, but even when it was, I could use this without becoming a ball of grease.

The Meringue Melt is equally impressive. It combines both physical and chemical exfoliation, but in a way that never feels harsh or drying. Skin feels smoother after using it, but never stripped—a balance that’s surprisingly difficult for exfoliating cleansers to achieve.

The rest fall into the MEETS category.

The Eye Achiever is another favorite. I like to use it at night for extra moisture under my eyes.

The Straight A Retinol is gentle, but effective. I didn’t peel from it.

I liked the hair products, but struggled to be consistent. I used them up, but it took much longer than it should have, so I didn’t reorder.

I’m currently using Mara Body Oil because it also works on my fine hair, and I like having one product that does two things, but The Revitalizer is a good body oil.

Bottom Line (who needs this)

This brand is for you if you are looking for gentle, botanical skincare that supports the skin barrier without irritation—if you are cleanish, but don’t want to sacrifice efficacy.

If you’re curious about the brand, start with The Super Blend, Meringue Melt or The Discovery Collection. I travel with The Discovery Collection and refill the containers between trips.

Maya Chia isn’t cheap, but it also isn’t the most expensive in its class. The products do what they promise. I should probably give them an EXCEED just for that. So few brands have so many products that live up to their marketing claims. I plan to try the Face Serum Makeup next and will let you know how it goes.

Final Verdict: Maya Chia is a MEET for me—and honestly one of my most reliable, tried-and-true brands.

Not sponsored. Not gifted. Not compensated. Just my skin and my opinion.
